Best Memory

As I take the first step on this journey, wherever it leads, I’d like to begin with the reader in mind. As you discover this place, let me know what your favorite memory watching sports has been. Why was it memorable? Was it the stakes of the game? The team or athletes involved? The sentimental value of where you were, who you were with, or what you were doing?

In what is way too quickly approaching for me a half century of taking it all in, I don’t know if I can pinpoint one moment off the top of my head. Some that come to mind:

-Packers win Super Bowl 31

-Michigan Football 1998 Rose Bowl

-Michigan Basketball 2026 National Championship

-Michael Jordan’s last game for the Bulls…the shot in Utah

-Red Sox vs Yankees 2004…games 4-7

-Tiger Woods wins the 2019 Masters

-Cubs 2016 World Series game 7 win

I can tell you where I was in each one of those moments…as fresh as if it were yesterday. Equally memorable are those moments that just gutted me as a fan. Scars that will never go away. As fans, we wear those scars proudly.

I begin this outlet with the goal of looking back at the great moments and digging into the stories of the people involved. Hopefully this will bring back some great memories (and possibly some that are not so great). I look forward to the interactions and hearing from those interested in this endeavor.
